Product Introduction:

Colour mark sensors are a type of sensor used in industrial automation to detect and identify colours on a surface, playing a crucial role in various industries such as packaging, printing and manufacturing, where colour detection is essential for quality control and process automation. They operate on the principle of colour reflection, emitting a specific wavelength of light that is reflected back by the surface, detected by the sensor and analyzed to provide an output signal indicating the presence or absence of a specific colour.

A typical colour mark sensor consists of three primary components: a light source, usually a light-emitting diode (LED), a detector, typically a photodiode or phototransistor and a processing unit, usually a microcontroller or dedicated IC. They can operate in two primary modes: reflective mode, where the sensor is placed on the same side of the surface as the light source and transmissive mode, where the sensor is placed on the opposite side of the surface as the light source. Colour mark sensors can detect colours based on various parameters like shade, saturation and brightness, with their colour detection capabilities determined by their spectral sensitivity. They are designed to provide high accuracy and reliability in colour detection, often equipped with features such as automatic gain control and noise reduction techniques.

Calibration is required to ensure accurate colour detection, involving adjusting the sensitivity of the sensors and gain to match the specific colour detection requirements of the application and regular maintenance such as cleaning the sensor lens and checking the light source, is essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the sensor.
